I'm lookinf for old Kennedy Fisher Fiberglass blanks. If anyone can give me a tip on where to start lookinng I'd be very grateful.

Rainshadow took four of the most popular Fisher saltwater models, and produce them in a fiberglass/ graphite composite. They were known as "KC" models in the Fisher days.
The Rainshadow model numbers are the SWS540, SWS5400, SWS597, and SWS696.
These were models that were very popular on the eastern seaboard.
Fisher used their "X" designations for these same blanks in the west coast market.
These blanks are available from Rainshadow in either matte clear, or transparent gloss black.

do you or anyone else have personal experience with the rainshadow saltwater composite blanks? i am leery of trying new stuff.
I do very elaborate wraps. i only build rods for friends as gifts. I've built over 300 rods in my life and each one is a work of art. it breaks my heart when one of my babies get broken. I wrap exclusively fisher and lamiglas blanks probably because i've never had one break. a buddy of mine wanted a sabre (against my advice) and i built it for him. he caught a big blackfish and the rod went snaperoo 6" down from the tip. $100.00 in materials and 15 hours of my time down the drain.

There are plenty of good blanks out there and most of them aren't going to just break for no reason. If they did, the companies that made them couldn't stay in business for very long. Think about St. Croix and GUSA for some of your rods too. My experience with the few Fisher blanks I've used was just the opposite of yours. Everybody has their favorites I guess.

Please feel free to do a search of this board regarding the made in USA Rainshadow product line. I am confident that the responses will be favorable, as Rainshadow would not risk its' integrity and offer an inferior rod blank of any kind.
I built on the J. Kennedy Fisher line of rod blanks for many years when I had Phantom Rods on Maui. These composites have been used by many of the staunch Fisher users of the past, and are very well received by well noted custom rod builders.
