Hey guys,
How are the Jann's Netcraft 'FLEXLITE' guides holding up to braid? I bought a set a while back, and am FINALLY getting around to putting them on a 7' speckled trout/redfish rod. I will likely be running braid on the rod, and don't want to replace the guides any time soon if I don't have to. Any experience with the FLEXLITES and braid? Thanks, Shawn Re: Flexlites Vs. Braid?

I haven't had any experience with the FLEXLITES, but it is not the braid or the type of guide that is the problem. It is the dirt and other things that get embedded in to or on the line that does the damage. That is one reason mono does not seem to hurt guides as bad as braid, if mono held as much dirt as braid it would do the same thing to the guides. Re: Flexlites Vs. Braid?

They may hold up ok - but unlike good ceramics - they will groove if you fish them a lot - even with mono. Just like the Berkley SS304's - there's no magic here - they are just plated stainless steel, and much softer that the cheapest aluminum oxide's.
If you were building retro glass rod, they would finish out the look very nice though. Have fun - Marc Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
