rod halves

I have a fellow who cast off the top to his GL3 7 wt. and watched it disappear into the river. Anyone have any ideas on how to replace half of this rod (or even the blank so I can build him the upper half)?

Send the butt section to G.Loomis. They will either fit a new top section or supply you with a new blank. There will be a charge, but it won't be full retail price. That's the best route you can take.

Tom is correct.. You can send rods back to all major rod compies for replacement parts. of course there is a replacement cost on the lost section. When a rod breaks send all the parts, that way they can determen if it was a factory defect.

How did that happen? Why didn't the line and fly stop the blank?
