G.Loomis warranty

Anyone had any experience with sending a custom rod back to Loomis due to breakage? Anything for me to keep in mind or do to save time and headache? Do I remove the guides and components I installed? If not, will I get them back? Any input would be great, had a customer rod (hadn't even paid for it yet) and said when the rod was loaded heavily it crumbled. It's broken in three places within the first 6 inches of the tip. Almost looks like partially a twist break. Anyway, need to send in the blank and get a new one to rebuild...

I have nothing but good things to say about g loomis service. I've sent a number of rods back & they have always been fair & prompt. Send the rod as is. You will get it back & can remove things then. Dick

sent back 1 custom fly rod, broken 4 inches from the tip, they sent back everything, including the old tip section, which now makes a nice emergency spare. I didn't even take off the guides.

I sent a rod back and they replaced it no questions asked. Prompt service. Leave the rod intact with all the guides. They will send them back. Also never cut off a piece of the tip or butt section of a Loomis blank or they won't honor the warranty.

Loomis has a great warrenty department. On custom rods they like the whole completed rod sent to them that way they can make a true evaluation on what caused the damage.
