has anyone ever tried the light-weight aftco guides on a musky rod? Re: light aftco guides for musky?

Go for it!Trolling or casting.Check out the Allcoast boards Rodbuilding sector.Guys are using these up to 40# line and they cast just fine.Ok for retrieving also.Even with the tip held down towards the water(or in it).Do a search for LWRG's.You should find a response from Greg Stotesbury at Aftco. I have caught a 35 lb bluefin tuna on a Calstar 700ML 30 lb test wrapped with AFTCO LWRs. I also have a Calstar 765XL-ALWR (all light weight rollers) that I use with 40 lb test - just waiting for a fish to test it. I'm sure that the LWRs will handle any muskie around. You just have to make sure that your knot or whatever you use will pass through the rollers. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
