A customer has asked about a 7 wt. 8-9 foot Medium Fast action rod for smallmouth bass. He wants something that will handle large bugs. I know there are plenty of blanks out there with these specs but does anyone have a favorite? Re: Fly Rod Blank Suggestions Needed

Loomis GL3 and St. Croix SCIV are both 7 weight rods I have built and they are excellent. I am sure others will say the same about the RainShadow and the Lami Perigee. Those should give you plenty to choose from. ....................................... Re: Fly Rod Blank Suggestions Needed

The lamiglass perigee is a fantastic blank, effortless to cast and has a excellent green/gold flaked gloss finish they are having a 20% off sale at Clemens tackle.Sale is over at the end of the month. I think I paid $80 for it. I am VERY pleased with it. Re: Fly Rod Blank Suggestions Needed

For a really strong butt section the Lam Ti2000 7wt. is hard to beat. I was the lucky winner of the drawing at the Guild Conclave of one of these blanks. It will throw any bug or weighted streamer in just about any weather. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
