combination fly/spin

I have a light weight 4 piece combination fly/spin rod designed for backpacking. The problem that I'm having is 2 rings slip and slide on the cork handle to hold either the spinning reel or fly reel. The sliding rings (which don't screw onto anything) don't hold the reel in place. When I hold onto the rod the rings slip off the ends of the reel base and then I'm trying to pick up the reel off of the ground or out of the water. Any suggestions Thanks Jay

I replaced the reel seat on a similar rod to yours by filing off the old cork seat first with a wood rasp (don't get too close to the blank) then with #80 grit sandpaper & on to 150 grit. I then attached a Fuji graphite reel seat. This was a fly-rod only but would work with a fly-spin by adding a removeable fighting butt. The Pac Bay threaded inserts for their removable fighting butt will fit into a size 16 Fuji DPS. Their 2" butt would work ok then.
