Just as the subject said, Who has the best cork? i don't mind paying for top grade cork, but trial and error gets to be pretty expensive. iam taking. no marks, wholes, ect. Is it merrick, mudwhole, anglers workshop ect. lets take a pole, iam sure we all could use this info. Who cares what they call it, flor, select, five star, how about just perfect cork rings.

thankyou john

No such thing I'm afraid. Cork naturally has at least some pits and holes. The best grade (with a standard behind it) is CG-1 and is about the best you can obtain today, or in the past.

Occasionally you may run across a ring that looks almost perfect, but once you sand into it you'll likely find at least some imperfections. And even these very best, nearly perfect rings have never been in good supply. They are and always have been truly rare because it's not the nature of cork to be like that.

Find a dealer who stocks and sells CG-1 and you'll have about the very best rings possible to obtain. Naturally, they're going to cost you a bit more.

I'll have to agree with Ken. Its the best I have bought. Andy Dear of Lamar takes personal pride in the qualitity of the cork he sales.
