This is my first time here. I would like to find out if anyone knows who all still makes roller guides. I am familiar with Aftco but there used to be many companies making them. Are there any left? What about Mildrum and Fin-Nor? Stuart? Is the use declining or are the Aftco's that much better than everyone else's were? Surely this is still the guide of choice on 80lb and up rods. What is everyone else using now?

stuart is still around, and pacific bay makes some that look almost identical to the aftco's, but I haven't tried either of these, I like the regular aftco's and the heavy duty ones, but haven't tried the big foot guides

Fin-Nor makes them too, if you don't mind the price.

Aftco makes the largest selection for 6# to unlimited weight rods. However I just received some from a company in Tustin, California. They only make one size set at the moment. They say it would cover 20 to 80# chair rods and up to 130# in stand up. They are beautifully made and have some features not found any where else.

G.Pucci & Sons of California distributes removable roller guides. They are made in Italy and resemble the Fin-Nor aluminum style but the head component part with the side plates and roller/s can be slid off the base/foot for cleaning or replacement. We had a New Product thing on them in the March/April 2000 RodMaker.

Very nice product, very good quality. Last I heard, however, they are in short supply.
