Hey Fellas,

I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to all you great guys here on the rodbuilding board. I just finished the flyrod I've been building for my 7 year old son Kevin, and despite my best efforts to foul it up, it actually turned out wonderfully. Without all of your help I doubt it would have turned out as nicely as it did. I wish I had taken a picture of my sons face the moment I presented it to him so I could post it here for all of you to see. It was truely a Kodak moment. So, from Kevin and I,... THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!

Sincerely,
Mike Carnegie

Mike,
Congratulations, and it's good to hear stories like these that bring the joy of fishing down to a new generation.

Kevin, I'm sure will cherish the heirloom, and your worth of the craft.

It's very satisfying as a rodbuilder to see the appreciation that even a 7 year old can bring, and makes it all worthwhile.

Organization?

Tom you have done a wonderful job with the magazine and now with this board. They have both turned out to be such a huge help. When are you going to start a rod building organization? I'd join if it was $100 or more. I'd bet many others would to. Your knack for fairness and helpfulness and getting things done would make it an automatic success. An organization fronted by you would eclipse anything else there is for the rod builder. If you build it, they will come.
