This is my first flyrod that I'm building and epoxied the spine in the wrong direction my question is do I have to correct it or can I move ahead.I also need to know since it's a two piece does the top section spine have to match the butt section spine since I messed up on the butt section.

It's nice to get it where you want it but in reality it will make little difference in your finished rod. Just build it on out and pay attention to the really important things like good guide sizing and placement. This is what creates good casting qualities, not spine location.

I did the same thing some time ago. What I did was spine the top section and aligned that to the reel seat, no the bottom section spine. The rod works just fine.

Spine alignment can be placed in the nice but not critical catagory. As Frank says, "pay attention to the really important things"
