I'am planning on buying one of these rod wrappers and I have a few questions that I'am sure someone can help me out with. The first is how slow will it turn down or should I install some type of reastat ? If I should over run my wrap or make a mistake can I back up? Are you able to start or finish a wrap by hand? Thank you for your time answering my questions. Rick Re: Clemens Power Rod Wrapper?

With practice, you can make the rod just barely creep with the supplied foot control. I have no problem doing that, but others can't seem to do more than slow it to a mad dash! (Mike Bolt can inform you on how to install the reostat you mention. He likes it and it works great for him.) Yes, you can back it up by hand. Most wraps are started and finished by hand and the unit allows you do that at will. Some enterprising builders adapt or modify motors so they can reverse the direction of rotation with the motor. I never found it necessary, but some like it that way. Most "professional overwinds" are easily stopped and corrected with a few turns by hand. .............................
