What is the difference in a British style blank and an American style rod blank......?merican

I'm not sure there is any difference until you get into very specific types of fishing. I'm sure many of the blanks made here in the U.S. are also used there in the United Kingdom and I have seen some of the British surf blanks which I find very similar to the old U.S. made Fenwick Surf Sticks. I'm sure there is a difference in some of the blanks but mostly on very specific types of fishing, such as the European Match style blanks. Wish I could offer more help. Surely others will do so.

A little back ground first. Most place except here in America, if you break a rod, you break a rod. It is rear you even got a
discount on replacement. After you understand that you will find most British blank, in the Match, Zander, Carp, and even lure
rod are a little more thicker in the blank diameter than their american counter part. The reason is that if one is responsible for
broken rod, it is much easier to built a thick wall blank than a thin wall blank with larger diameter if durability is the objective. In
American the only two companies who go that route is Sage and the pretty new Lamiglas Preigree blanks. The feel is usually
more crisp and the blank a little easier to break. In the case of match blanks (which are 12 to 13 ft rod with ultra light tip, thin
wall construction, usually come in 3 piece), carp blank (Which talon make a excellent one with think wall (American style, very
different from the Hutcheson, or Dan Barley I am familiar with) or the zander blanks which are usually 9 ft 2 piece with only 6
guides.
