I was invited to give a presentation to a group of seasoned fisherman next week to answer the question "why buy a custom rod?" In preparation, I'm trying to anticipate questions that may arise. One question that comes to mind is "what is the "IM6, 8, and 10" mean and doesn't higher modulus equal a better rod?"

In my mind the answer is no, and I think I understand the basics, but I could use a refresher from you experts. I don't want to have to be building on all IM10 blanks just because I couldn't explain the concept well enough. Amatuers all seem to think the bigger the number and the higher the modulus, the better the rod.

Rob,

Please email me. I would like to send you something that I think will help you explain the concept to the average fisherman. It's short on figures and specs, and long on easy to understand basic principles that will make sense to your audience.

Rob, give me a call at 1-800-826-7042 ext. 133. I'd like to explain all the details on this post, but it would take to long. Also, we have had some conversations relating to modulus lately on this board, so rather than retyping, we can talk one on one.
