Substitute fly line for micro reel?

Another problem. I need about a .02 diameter line for a Forbes micro reel. I can't get enough .031 running line on the reel to cast on a new 5', 0 weight rod. The tiny reel diameter sets a tight coil in monofilament. The .031 Cortland braided running line seemed to work best, if I could get enough on the reel. Braided leaders turned over well, but way to short. Should I try an ice line? Mucilin on a high test braid? I am open to all suggestions. I only need about 30 feet of line to make this rig work. I use 12 lb Cortland backing on my light rods, I don't know why something like a superline or even Berkeley 4/10 Fireline wouldn't also work. With the light leaders you'll be using you won't need much backing strength. Either is below the diameter you mentioned I believe. The superlines or Fireline should be way below that.
